1.
I'm A Worry 02:54
I guess I knew all along The countless setting suns Would only lead me the way To my last breathing day Oh, I’m a worry I’m a worry But I won’t worry long Oh, I’m a worry I’m a worry But I won’t worry long How steep a hill you must climb To see the other side I hope for you that the view Is what you had in mind Oh, I’m a worry I’m a worry But I won’t worry long Oh, I’m a worry I’m a worry But I won’t worry long
2.
A White Man 03:17
I went out on a limb Showed you the lay of the land But ended up in your hands To be held or to be crushed See a white man Child of old Satan Come to pave the way For misery and hell I went down to the ocean Sat down by that sea But the waves and the water Would not give me peace See a white man Child of old Satan Come to pave the way For misery and hell
3.
Lines + Dots 03:08
I’m just a number A line among lines I play my part; I’m ten digits on a card I know it by heart But I feel just like a leaf Hanging from a tree Waiting for my time to come Drying in the autumn sun I’m just a digit A dot among dots I’m feeling fine; got my number; wait in line There’s no wasting time But I feel just like a leaf Hanging from a tree Waiting for my time to come Drying in the autumn sun
4.
Changed Man 02:05
So they say that you’re a changed man You’ve been around the world and back again You’re a changed man You’ve changed your ways Now so uneasy and you can’t stay calm You’ve got the bug; you need to travel on You’re a changed man You’ve changed your ways Some people go Some people stay Most people sit and wait Some people grow Some people change Most people stay the same Well, I still don’t believe a word you say You come to me like this is yesterday But I’m a changed man I’ve changed my ways Some people go Some people stay Most people sit and wait Some people grow Some people change Most people stay the same
5.
The only use of the town you are born in Is to leave just as soon as you’re eighteen From a village, to a town, to a city You went from bored, to amused, onto busy But still you know there is a place Where your face is a sight of much delight Where you grew up; you would grow down That’s the reason why you had to leave this town And that’s fine, just as long as you stop by From time to time just to remind Those of us who stayed behind It isn’t always brighter on the other side You’re not alone You’re not alone Just far from home Just far from home You’re not alone Don’t get distracted by the lights and the sunshine Because I know there is a scheme somewhere in your mind But still you know there is a place Where your face is a sight of much delight Where you grew up; you would grow down That’s the reason why you had to leave this town And that’s fine, just as long as you stop by From time to time just to remind Those of us who stayed behind It isn’t always brighter on the other side You’re not alone You’re not alone Just far from home Just far from home You’re not alone
6.
If I had some spirit left in me I would walk up to you across the street And ask for your name And then we could sit down and talk Maybe even go out for a walk And all would be fine If I had just one wish left to give There was only one thing I would need The wish to succeed And then you would know my name And I would not have lived in vain And all would be fine If I had some money in the bank I would buy that house across the street And not change a thing And then we could have a kid or two There would be so much to do And all would be fine
7.
Brother of mine I hope that you know That every season holds a new glow If you don’t use it Then you abuse it Either way you have to choose it You know, I think that it’s a shame You let your talents go to waste Drowning man The master plan was in your hands And I know you But I don’t know you And you know me But you don’t know me You act just like a child Did the complexities of life run you wild? You mannish child Don’t be denied Now you just lay in bed all day I hardly ever see your face Two idle hands One busy mind Tangled; yet untied
8.
Come On! 03:36
9.
Oh, the town I was born in Only a town by name My folks they raised me right Told me to get out Out of sight The good days that I’ve had there I can count on one hand I had to turn it around Make some sound Build it up from the ground In a broken-down town Nothing going down Not even the sun comes along For more than a day Nobody has any dreams Nobody has any plans Nobody knows just where They’re going to Or what to do In a broken-down town Nothing going down Not even the sun comes along For more than a day
10.
Knew a man and I knew he couldn’t stay With his mind he could go a long way He traveled far; traveled all across this land And found a job with some moral demands But I’m not gonna follow in them tracks I’m growing old and I’m never looking back Tied on his boots and he tied in his mind Like a shot; both eyes and mind were going blind I headed home met him in town the other day Looked in his eyes; they gave away that he had changed But I’m not gonna follow in them tracks I’m growing old and I’m never looking back Change is strange; its range; in any time or place Such a shame another mind gone to waste But I’m not gonna follow in them tracks Won’t let my heart turn from red into black I’m standing strong; I’m never gonna slack I’m growing old and I’m never looking back
11.
Now that the hill has been climbed I hope you’re satisfied With how your pawns have been played And how your bed is made Oh, I’m a worry I’m a worry But I won’t worry long Oh, I’m a worry I’m a worry But I won’t worry long Now all the chords have been strummed And all the songs been sung All to say has been said And all to read’s been read Oh, I’m a worry I’m a worry But I won’t worry long Oh, I’m a worry I’m a worry But I won’t worry long
12.
So strange Why we most leave this place Where we have spent our days It’s all that I know Slowly loosen my hold At ease I try to be at ease My mind won’t give me peace Day in and day out As quiet as it is loud Let go Clouds drift by so slow Turn from white to gold When the day is done I hope I’m where I belong
